Meeting The Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog
I’ve had frog call to me several times over the years. Driving along a backcountry road greeted with the most melodious of choirs, once a personal visit by the most fluorescent green frog right in my bathroom!!! To this day I still have no idea how he got in there but we did come to an understanding that we would only meet outside of the house, on his turf from then on. This summer when the cutest little tree frogs with ET like feet that made me silently say “ET go home” So I listened to that call to return home when I received such a strong invitation to become one with this magical amphibian.
And so I find myself sitting in a serenely decorated waiting room with a group of strangers and a friend. Oddly, I already feel a kinship with these souls, like the frog has called to a deep inner part of each of us, weaving a waxy thread of interconnection. We have all come together through that inner whisper to intimately connect with the “Vaccine of the Amazon” of the Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog.
Welcome to Kambo
Kambo is the name given to the poisonous secretion of a tree frog that is used by the indigenous tribes to heal and strengthen the body, mind and spirit.
Kambo is legal in all countries and it is not a hallucinogenic. It provides a deep cleansing remedy - physically, emotionally and mentally. It is one of the world’s most effective and natural antibiotics and immune system boosters. It detoxifies the liver and intestines, improves mental functioning, and has the potential to dissolve emotional blocks. It also helps to reset our cellular memory.
The tribes also use it to ward off the enemy, to rid one of laziness, lack of desire, sadness, mental, spiritual and physical weakness, low self-esteem and disharmony with nature. In the Amazon Rainforest, this medicine is known to bring happiness to those who take it, to bring luck, and to unblock and circulate the heart chakra among many other benefits.
Kambo is said to remove ‘Panema’ or heavy energy and bring the person back to their natural state of perfect harmony, back to their highest physical, emotional and spiritual potential, reconnecting one to self. It was that reconnecting to ones self; the calling to return home to myself that spoke to me.
The administering of Kambo is done with reverence and sacred ceremony that lasts about three to four hours for a group. The medicine is applied to the skin after small superficial burns are made with a red-hot ember vine stick that looks like incense. The top layer of the skin is gently burned. Traditionally, the points are placed on the lower right leg for women, and men usually have their points placed on their upper left arm. The practitioner intuitively receives the number of points that each person shall receive based on the persons intentions for healing. The technical name for these points is Gates and I just love that name as it holds the intention that we are opening gateways to our highest and best self!
Kambo is a very physical experience as once the medicine is applied it immediately moves into the body and will bring about a purging effect. The spiritual power of Kambo is something I really love. It aids to integrate our mind with our heart and re-align our chakras. It can also assist us in raising our prayers to Source.
In Shamanism the belief is that we gain assistance from plant and animal spirit. For Kambo, we are aligning with the Spirit of frog and its characteristics and qualities such as it’s strong immunity to predators. So with this belief the Spirit of frog offers us it’s power of being able to shield off predatory energies or lower energies that prey on body, mind and spirit. Once free of these energies, it is common to see natural health returned as well as harmony with all that is.
I was so blessed to be held in a beautiful supportive and nurturing energy through out my experience by Paymun of Kambo Kai who administered the medicine and Dane who hosted and cared for us throughout with such a loving presence, providing a beautiful sound bath from the crystal bowls to allow for full integration of the medicine.
Immediately after the experience I felt the shift. I felt like a warrior, my connection back to my inner power and source was strong yet silently present within. I felt a deep intricate web of relationship with all of the cosmos, I knew the truth of myself and my physical body was so at ease, holding zero tension and pain no longer in my perception, my physical sight was sharp and crisp, the world around me appearing more vibrant and beautiful then before. I feel as if I’m in instant wordless communication with all that surrounds me and it feels like Home.
Love and hugs
